A chemical peel\u00a0consists of blend of glycolic, salicylic and lactic acids with pH value around 1.9.\u00a0It is recommended\u00a0for fine lines reduction, skin lightening, oily skin regulation and acne treatment. First, the face is prepared and cleansed. The chemical peel is then applied to the skin. Your skin will likely feel warm and a stinging sensation may be present in addition to your skin turning pink. Chemical peels remove the outer skin layers through a process called\u00a0\u2018keratolysis\u2019.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Keratolysis means\u00a0\u2018the loosening and shedding of the outer layer of the skin, which may occur normally by exfoliation or induced chemically in which the skin is shed at periodic intervals\u2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Chemical peel agents, such as\u00a0glycolic and salicylic acids, are applied on the surface of the skin \u2013 they then penetrate through the skin layers to break up skin cells, causing the outer layer of skin cells to \u2018fall off\u2019 or peel. This causes the skin to renew itself to achieve a more even tone and a radiant complexion.<\/span><\/p>

Chemical peels can be applied every 1-2 weeks until desired results are achieved.
